MBA Master of Business Administration FHNW


Course Description

The overall objective of the dual degree programme is to educate individuals as managers and business specialists and thus improve the quality of management as a profession. The MBA adds value by developing an integrated and critically aware understanding of management and organisations in individuals and assists said individuals in taking effective roles within these organisations.

Dual Degree Programme

The Dual Degree study track encompasses Swiss and British academic culture alike, providing in-depth insights into business clusters, history and culture.

Curriculum and Modules

7 EBS core courses/modules (70 ECTS)
- Organisational Behaviour
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
-Project Management
- Marketing
- Strategic Planning.

1 FHNW elective course/module chosen from (10 ECTS each):
Cross-cultural Consumer Behaviour, Leading across Cultures, International Entrepreneurship, Intercultural Negotiation and Communication, Social Media and Customer Experience, Sustainable Tourism and Event Management.

Master Thesis (15 ECTS)

Workshop days and times core courses

Friday session mode: Friday afternoon (14.00 –19.00)
Saturday session mode: Saturday morning (09.00 –14.00)

Each elective course consists of five workshop days, which take place on a Saturday once or twice a month.

Entry Requirements

The normal entry requirements for the dual degree programme consist of an undergraduate degree (bachelor’s degree) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised academic institution as well as at least two years relevant levels of work experience, two written work references as well as very good or excellent linguistic abilities in English (equivalent to level C1, CAE/BEC Higher). A limited number of applicants without an undergraduate degree may be considered if they have a minimum of five years full-time business experience.
