Master of Health Promotion

Course Description

This course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to work in the field of health promotion, or expand on your existing experience and research abilities. You will plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programs in various settings, develop your research skills, and examine current issues in optimising health and prevention of disease.

Career opportunities

This course opens many doors to a career in health promotion. Upon graduation, you may choose to seek work at a ‘grass roots’ level developing community based health promotion programs; become involved in broadbased social marketing campaigns; or conduct health promotion intervention research.

Alternatively, you may wish to further your research career by applying for a doctoral course.

Credit for previous study

Applications for recognition of prior learning (RPL) are assessed on an individual basis.

Entry Requirements

A relevant bachelor degree plus two years of subsequent work experience, which is assessed on the basis of job description, level of seniority and responsibility, work-based referee report, publications or other written reports, and short courses or conference attendance. Minimum English language entry requirements: IELTS Writing- 6.0, Speaking- 6.0, Reading- 6.0, Listening- 6.0, Overall band score- 6.5.
