Your MBM programme will ensure that you graduate from Waikato with the skills, knowledge and leadership ability to successfully enter today's fast-changing international corporate environment.
Action-Learning Opportunity We will offer you the opportunity to work for an executive in a New Zealand business. You will learn how business operates and you will network outside of the Waikato Management School. This connects your studies to the practical workplace. It teaches you what New Zealand firms look for in their staff.
Each action-learning project will require a group to work for up to a month within an organisation. Prior to this, you will be prepared with relevant sessions on how to carry out an action research project.
Internship At Waikato Management School, we focus on practically relevant education and a strong connection to business. We want our graduates to develop skills that support their job search both here and overseas. For a selected group of high achievers, we will arrange for month-long internships at New Zealand firms.
Working under the guidance of an experience former CEO/Chair, participants will deliver management value to companies. They will be recognised for this work with a special reference letter. To qualify for these internships, you must maintain a high grade average and have communication and practical skills to support this channelling position.
The MBM can be completed in 12 months of full-time study putting you on a fast track to a career in management.
Entry to the Master of Business and Management (MBM) requires an undergraduate degree in any discipline. It is expected that you are competent in the areas of basic Microsoft Office fluency (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and have basic maths fluency. To gain entry to Part II of the programme you must have gained a B+ average in Part I. If English is not your first language you will have to demonstrate English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, no band less than 6.0).
