Finance and Development


Course Description

Political and economic globalization calls for new professional figures that are capable of understanding, assessing and managing the social, cultural and economic challenges that await us. The competences and tools needed to analyse and operate in this context require a vast multi-disciplinary understanding of the international scenario.
The Masters Programme in Finance and Development provides students with an advanced understanding of a variety of fields (including sociology, economics, political science, history and law) and the tools that are necessary to analyse and interpret the social, economic, juridical and institutional contexts that characterise developing countries. The programme addresses the evaluation and management of international cooperation programmes in terms of politics, economy, finance, health and law.
The Masters Programme also focuses on the methodologies employed by bi- and multi-lateral cooperation organisations to develop programmes and peace missions.
More, in general, it provides students with the competences necessary to:
· Conceive, draft, implement and direct integrated cooperation programmes and projects for development;
· Monitor and evaluate projects and programmes;
· Work in fluent English (both written and spoken) and provides a good working knowledge of French, Spanish, Chinese or Arabic;
· Employ communication and information management tools.
