This innovative course in the developing field of public sector commissioning is intended for clinicians, practitioners and managers with a role or interest in leadership or commissioning. Participants may be drawn from a range of health and care organisations including the independent and third sectors.
Participants will be exposed to a range of theoretical models, approaches and learning methods to develop and apply their academic understanding, and supported via the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and University of Brighton.
[Core modules] Leading and Transforming Services Clinical Commissioning for Quality Care Commissioning Strategy and Practice Knowledge Management for Commissioners and Service Leaders Leadership for Health and Care Professionals Research Methods and Critical Appraisal Dissertation
[Optional modules] Quality and Care Meeting the Challenges: Public Health in Practice Exploring and Managing Partnerships Behavioural Economics
The course is open to service leaders, commissioners and managers with a role or interest in leadership or commissioning from the healthcare, local authority, independent and third sectors. Applicants will either have a first degree, or will be able to show a proven track record in leadership or commissioning. Applicants are expected to have the support of their sponsoring employer or organisation. If you do not fulfil the above criteria you may still apply after discussion with the course leader. You may also apply for individual modules as part of continuing education without undertaking a degree pathway.
