Double Masters Programme Political Science

Course Description

The Double Masters Programme provides excellent students with the opportunity to obtain two Master's degrees from two top-ranked universities in only two years. Students of the Double Masters Programme study the first year of the Research Master's Programme in European Studies at Maastricht University. In the second year, they complete modules of the Master's Programme in Political Science at the University of Cologne. Students obtain the regular Master's degrees of both universities.

The programme provides a unique opportunity for students to study European politics from a truly European perspective with all the advantages both universities have to offer. In addition to regular seminars and lectures, the programme includes excursions, summer schools, guest lectures and career service events to boost your career.

Double degree students will be well prepared for the demands of an international labour market in European Studies, which increasingly expects graduates to have studied in more than one country. Graduates of the programme are particularly well qualified for a career in the institutions of the European Union, other areas of public administration or international companies. Furthermore, the research-oriented nature of the degree means that graduates are likely to move on to either doctoral research or to research-related work in think tanks, NGOs, etc.
