Maritime Transport and Logistics (MSc)

Course Description

Gain the knowledge and understanding of the general practices and principles in addition to industry knowledge and skills for a career in transport and logistics.

Educational demand in the maritime transport and logistics sector has been expanding rapidly as a result of globalised production and the subsequent increasing requirement for sea-based transportation and logistics services.

This is the only course of its kind in Scotland. You'll be taught by a dedicated core teaching team made up of experts in their fields. All our teaching staff are actively involved in research activities and have a wealth of experience in teaching, consultancy and industry. What you'll learn

You will explore and critique logistics and distribution strategies, in addition to studying the economics of freight transport and learning to apply tools of strategic business management analysis to the maritime industry.

This is an academically challenging and industry-relevant programme of study at Masters Level within the field of maritime transport and logistics.

The course will develop practical, critical and analytical abilities throughout its duration, with you becoming an effective and reflective learner. The programme will furnish you with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the field, thereby enabling you to compete effectively for employment in the industry.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for this course is an honours degree of 2:2 or above. We may also consider lesser qualifications if you have relevant work experience within the industry. Our entry requirements indicate the minimum qualifications with which we normally accept students. Competition for places varies from year to year and you aren't guaranteed a place if you meet the minimum qualifications.
