WHAT WILL I STUDY?
The programme comprises seven modules and a dissertation.
Modules cover topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, the digital economy, business planning, financial resource allocation, and the relationship between strategy and organisational and national cultures.
You will be introduced to a wide range of research methods and the methodologies applicable to management research, as well as being supervised and supported through both conducting research and writing a dissertation.
In addition to your dissertation, there is also the opportunity to undertake an in-depth research project for a sponsoring organisation, in a management-related discipline, around a topic of common interest.
HOW WILL I STUDY?
The programme will be delivered through a hybrid approach that makes use of group sessions and one-to-one meetings. The modules may be delivered weekly, in block sessions, or by some other appropriate arrangements such as audio/video conferencing or online discussions as appropriate.
WHO WILL BE TEACHING ME?
This MA is taught by highly motivated and experienced academics specialising in different areas of management research. All members of the programme team are active researchers engaged with projects at national and international level.
Some seminars will be delivered by external guest speakers from academia and industry. You will also be invited to attend a series of research seminars organised by the department and have the opportunity to present your own work within a supportive and nurturing environment.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Most modules are assessed through essays and other written research projects. The dissertation/research project is predominately assessed based on a 25,000-word written thesis.
WHAT ARE MY CAREER PROSPECTS?
An MA in Management and Entrepreneurship qualification could be a crucial step towards a career in areas such as general management, organisational development or consultancy.
The skills and experience acquired throughout the programme also provide essential preparation for progressing onto higher research qualifications, such as MPhil and PhD.
