Combining academic study with hands-on work experience makes the co-op MBA our most popular program. DeGroote's co-op option is the leading program of its kind in Canada, offering an established history (since 1973), a strong employer network (including some of Canada's leading companies), and proven results (83% of 2011 co-op graduates were employed six months after completing the program). Put yourself ahead of the competition by entering the work force with solid experience.
DeGroote has relationships with employer partners who hire interns and co-op students from the school. A wide variety of positions are available to co-op students, who can use their work term salaries to help pay for their MBA.
International applicants who have at least one year of full-time continuous professional, managerial or technical work experience may also apply for the co-op option. There are a limited number of spots available for international students.
Program specific requirements: Although work experience is an asset, it is not a requirement for the co-op MBA program. Applicants who meet the academic requirements will be required to take part in a behaviour based interview.*
This program is for you if you are a recent graduate with little or no work experience, or if you are interested in changing directions in your career and want to gain experience in a new field.
As a co-op student, you will receive intensive career development assistance through DeGroote's Centre for Business Career Development (CBCD). One-on-one coaching and skills development programs will prepare you for high-level co-op positions and career success when you graduate.
Each application we receive is given a thoughtful and thorough review by a member of our recruiting and admissions team. There are minimum requirements which must be met, but we also like to get an idea of your motivations, goals and values. We also look for leadership qualities and community involvement.
