Master of Clinical Neuropsychology

Course Description

This course prepares you for research and practice in clinical neuropsychology. It provides students with the specialist training required for registration as a professional psychologist with the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Students will also be eligible for specialised supervision leading to full membership with the APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists.

In keeping with the scientist-professional training model, the course emphasises the application of research based on developments in the field of psychology.

Please note: International students cannot undertake studies on overseas exchange in this program.

The opportunity to upgrade to a combined Master of Clinical Neuropsychology/PhD program is available for local applicants after successful completion of the first year of the Master of Clinical Neuropsychology at La Trobe University.

Professional recognition

Graduates are eligible for registration as professional psychologists with the Psychology Board of Australia, and for endorsement as a specialist clinical neuropsychologist following further supervised practice within a registrar program. Graduates can gain membership
with the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and are eligible for full membership with the APS College of Clinical neuropsychologists after fulfilling all requirements of the registrar program.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have:- an APAC-accredited Australian Bachelor's degree with a major in psychology and a minimum B grade average (70 per cent or above) or equivalent across all years- an APAC-accredited fourth-year program in psychology including a major thesis component with an upper H2A average (75 per cent or above)- two academic referee reports, as set out in the proforma here- two professional referee reports- experience in volunteer work or work related to psychology.

Course Fees

Indicative (2015): $24,040 per 120 credit points.
