Course Description

The Master of Arts in Public Relations is a one-year full time programme combining lectures, project work, the production of an academic dissertation and work experience with a view to preparing students for a successful career in public relations.

Upon completion of the course, graduates will have a thorough understanding of public relations and the issues confronting it in the modern world. The course boasts a particular emphasis on the theory and practice of public relations as a function of strategic management.

Entry Requirements

Entry is confined to holders of an honours degree (2.2 grade or higher).Prospective candidates should complete an application form for this course either on-line or by post from the Postgraduate Admissions Office at DIT. Qualified applicants may be invited for interview in late May-early June. Selection is based on the candidates understanding of and motivation for a career in public relations. Those completing their primary degree this year may be offered a place subject to attaining a 2:2 honours degree.
