This exciting MA examines the ways in which social media interact with different spheres of life. It looks at the economy and the shift to informational capitalism; politics, the development of new forms of political participation and activism, and the professionalization of political communication; social and personal life, and the involvement of social media in the construction of identities and new socialities; cultural life and the rise of game cultures and gaming, media convergence and digital art. The MA offers training in research methods and students are expected to undertake small research projects, case studies analyses, and a dissertation.
A good honours degree in any discipline and/or evidence of previous professional experience.
