This groundbreaking programme of study, validated by the University of Hull, is designed to provide the opportunity of masters level study for new graduates and practicing professionals. Its primary aim is to facilitate (through professional practice and real-world project scenarios) the development of advanced audio production, composition and music technology skills. The programme also aims to provide a thorough understanding of the business and innovation skills practitioners need to compete in a global market.
Delivered part-time (over two years) by distance learning, the programme will enable early or mid career professionals to study whilst in the workplace.
Through work-based enquiry and professional practice the programme aims to foster the knowledge, skills and understanding required to efficiently lead and manage professional briefs and communicate effectively with a wide range of client types.
The programme of study has been designed through consultation with industry specialists.
Course Content and Structure
The programme is modular and flexible and therefore enables students to explore advanced techniques that will further build on their subject expertise and career trajectory. Modules of study include:
Creative Portfolio 1 and 2 Business and Innovation Professional Practice Promotion and Marketing Technical Skills Development
Modules of study are delivered by skilled practitioners and subject specialist mentors (via distance learning) who will work with you on a one-to-one basis. Students enrolled on this programme may study in their own workplace or access our on-site resources and studio spaces during term-time or summer recess. Incubators for start-up business enterprises are also available.
The programme is delivered through distant learning and online mentoring using video conferencing, master classes, course learning materials and the course virtual learning environment. For those living close to the campus face-to-face learning and mentoring is also available.
All members of the teaching team are academically and professionally experienced in their field and include practicing TV and film sound experts, composers, live performers, interactive art installation specialists and educationalists.
