Get Acquainted with our M.S. in Human Resource Management: “Our people are our most valuable asset.” It’s a message heard loud and clear from the highest ranks of today’s leading organizations. For executive leaders, attracting and retaining top talent is contingent upon having a highly qualified and effective human resource manager in place. After all, the role of the HR leader is evolving into that of a tightly integrated business partner — someone who can build a strong talent pool that yields significant competitive advantage.
Sacred Heart University’s Master of Science in Human Resource Management (M.S. in HRM) helps professionals develop the advanced quantitative skills and real-world knowledge it takes to contribute at the highest levels. Graduates are prepared for careers as HR managers and directors — high-growth positions that are projected to continue their upward climb.
Dig Deeper into the HRM Degree: The 33-credit M.S. in HRM operates on a trimester schedule, allowing students to graduate in less than two years. - The part-time program is suited for human resource professionals seeking advancement, or for business managers who wish to move laterally into the HR field. - The full-time program is suited for students who have an undergraduate degree in business, applied psychology, HR management or leadership and are interested in an advanced HR degree.
Designed to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals, the program’s blended format combines online-centric study with in-person classes that meet every other Saturday. Alongside peers in your cohort, you will network, collaborate and gain valuable expertise from distinguished SHU faculty members, as well as senior-level HR executives who serve as guest lecturers.
Understand the HRM Graduate Program Delivery: Courses are taught in a blended format—part of the course is taught online with in-person classes every other Saturday at our Stamford, Conn. Graduate Center in Landmark Square from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Making use of online technology together with on-ground delivery will minimize travel requirements while bringing the students together. Furthermore, the master's program is built around a cohort of students admitted together each fall. This is intended to create a student support system and a future peer network. Students who are accepted after a cohort has started may take elective classes while awaiting the start of their cohort. A 12-credit graduate certificate in human resource management is also available through the Welch College of Business.
