Executive Master in Strategic Human Resource Management

Course Description

An international 10-months Executive Program that places an in-depth emphasis on the business context of HR management and leadership, focusing on the organizational and strategic issues influencing HR decisions.
You’ll be prepared to advise top executives and to drive changes in complex organizational settings.
You’ll be strategic yourself.
The mission of the Program is to support high-potential HR managers and professionals in developing the necessary competences to strengthen the strategic and leadership role of HR.
The Master emphasizes the close relationship between HR management and strategy, within an international setting which draws upon cutting-edge research and practice to develop methodologies and tools.
The objectives of the program are the following:
• To increase individual knowledge and expertise through the discussion of HR strategies, models, methods and techniques;
• To develop problem-solving skills, through the discussion of cases and real accounts of corporate HR situations and decisions;
• To strengthen people management skills through teaching methods based on group work, case discussions, in-company activities, guest speakers and corporate testimonials.
• To pursue a hands-on learning experience, by immediately applying concepts and tools to the reality of one’s organizations through individual assignments.
• The Program starts in February 2014 and ends in November 2014 with the graduation ceremony.

The Master includes a total of 36 days of face-to-face teaching, including 6 Saturdays , designed around 8 modules of 3-6 days. In order to measure their knowledge and learning outcomes against companies’ everyday practice and issues, participants are also called to engage in 4 individual project assignments, for approximately 40 days of work in distance learning.

The modular approach, coupled with in-depth individual and team-based work, will allow individuals for a full immersion in class discussion while maintaining continuous contact with their organizations.

Costs & Funding
The total fee is € 33,500.

The tuition fee includes teaching and tutoring, business lunches and breaks, all materials, access to Bocconi University Library and the use of all School’s support facilities. Travel expenses and accommodation in Milan are not included. Participants could benefit from SDA Bocconi privileged agreements with Hotels for accommodation.

The fee is to be paid in four instalments:

1st Instalment € 9,500 on Registration by 31st December 2013

2nd Instalment € 8,500 by 31st March 2014

3rd Instalment € 7,500 by 30th June 2014

4th Instalment € 8,000 by 30th September 2014

The School assists candidates with their funds search by placing at their disposal the documentation required for financial support applications.
In particular, Bocconi grants opportunities for low-interest loans available to admitted students, thanks to agreements with some partner banks.

Admission requirements: - Relevant work experience in Human Resource Management or related functions - A degree in any discipline - Fluency in English (self-assessed)
