This program is designed to meet the needs of professionals who are currently working. The aim of the program is to enable participants to become agents of change and implant new ideas into their organizations and the broader society. The program begins every September.
The Professional MBA is a rigorous program whose duration is 2 years. The program is completed within six Semesters, each divided into two Terms. The duration of each Term is two months. In order to graduate, students must complete a total of 90 European Credit Transfer System units - ECTS units. Courses of 3.5 or 4 ECTS are completed within 28 contact-hours over a two-month period. The program also offers a number of courses of 2 ECTS that are completed within 14 contact-hours over a two-month period.
During the first six Terms program participants must complete a total of 49 ECTS units, which constitute the core curriculum. The core courses introduce students to the body of knowledge of the various business disciplines, and provide them with the opportunity to improve business critical thinking.
During Terms seven through nine, students must choose courses of their choice corresponding to 20 ECTS, from a list available from the Department. A number of elective courses are offered in all business disciplines, so that students can customize their program according to their own professional needs and personal development, and further develop their strategic thinking.
The last Semester of the program (May-August) is devoted to the development of the Applied Business Project (21 ECTS units). Participants of the program are expected to tackle a business problem from the industry using the tools and knowledge acquired during the program. The Applied Business Project is considered the epitome of the program. It is through this project that students will demonstrate their abilities as agents of change, introduce novel ideas and lead their organizations in today’s dynamic business environment.
Degree from a recognized academic institution or equivalent. The program accepts students according to the selection criteria that focus on work experience and prior academic performance. Priority will be given to applicants who have at least 3 years of full-time work experience and superior academic performance, which may also be demonstrated through GMAT or GRE exams. Candidates that apply to the program in English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL or IELTS or GCE or equivalent, unless they hold a degree from an English speaking institution. Two recommendations from academics or people who are familiar with the work of the candidate. Applicants will be invited for a personal interview to assess their contribution potential to the program.
