Management and Corporate Sustainability (MSc)

Course Description

Course Description

The Cranfield MSc in Management and Corporate Sustainability will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in business, with an emphasis on corporate sustainability. The programme meets the growing demand for managers who have the ability, confidence and inspiration to place sustainability and responsibility at the heart of how they manage.

This one-year full-time programme will help you to make the link between understanding management and corporate sustainability theory and concepts, and applying them practically in a real-world business environment.

Cranfield School of Management bridges the gap between the corporate and academic worlds to promote sustainable business management. Our close connections within industry have enabled us to create and develop a 'community of practice' in the field, in which we serve as researchers, mentors and educators.

The MSc in Management and Corporate Sustainability has been developed to produce practical, proactive corporate sustainability managers. Our teaching methods encourage the co-production of ideas and knowledge sharing, self-development and team working. You will be supported in your personal and professional development throughout the programme.

Delivered in a varied, stimulating and experiential learning environment, all taught modules consist of formal lectures, in-class case discussions and self-study.

You will gain an understanding of core management theories, concepts, tools and techniques, and learn how to apply them creatively in real-life situations.

The academic design of the course is underpinned by the reality of real-world corporate sustainable business issues, allowing you to apply your newly acquired knowledge and skills directly into the workplace on completion of the programme.

I chose Cranfield because if its high rankings.
Life on campus is like a little universe of it own. The academics that taught me and the career service are fantastic. The Cranfield alumni network is very powerful and I am pleased to be part of it.
I did a consultancy project whilst studying with an external client which was great experience.

Allison Alassan

I chose Cranfield for its great reputation which has been formed by the many industry leaders who have studied or worked there. I believe that the knowledge I have acquired will be an invaluable asset to any organisation and be beneficial to my career.
The environment is next-to-none for studying and the lecturers are very experienced. For our group project we worked with a marketing consultancy in London on one of their real-life business problems. Connecting with business in this way brings learning to life.

Miss Yue Zhu

I studied full-time at Cranfield, which I chose because of its good reputation in the field of logistics and supply chain management.
I found its close relationships with industry gave me opportunity to work on real things which bring true value for my future career. The research environment is focused and mature.

Some of my experiences when I was at Cranfield were tough but introduced me to new items like popular topics in industry. I found the time constraints for assignments and projects brought challenges but helped me to improve my own processes to deal with tough times.
I learned how to solve complicated problems in a much more effective way. So, all in all, my course has helped me to be more positive when facing difficulties by teaching me how to get over them.

At the beginning of the year we did group assignments. Then, for my thesis project, I worked alone. My thesis project was sponsored by British American Tobacco (BAT) and focused on a procurement-related topic. The company was very supportive - both regarding my project and my career development. My professor at Cranfield also guided me with clear structure and direction. With their help, I reached outcomes I didn't expect I would be capable of when I first arrived.
