Master of Design Arts

Course Description

In the Design Arts graduate program, students develop a self-initiated design project in areas such as Ceramics, Furniture, Glass, Gold and Silversmithing, Sculpture, and Textiles. Projects might include the development of object/product lines for studio prototyping or production and may form the basis for industrial production with particular emphasis on technical, aesthetic and production outcomes.

Entry Requirements

Appropriate level skills as demonstrated through portfolio and curriculum vitae and a four year bachelors degree either as honours or a combined degree in a cognate area from an Australian tertiary institution or its international equivalent, or a three year bachelors degree in a cognate area with a minimum of two years relevant professional practice/experience. Equivalence may be met by the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Visual Arts. Students must nominate a primary workshop on application. Entry to other workshop areas is negotiated with workshop heads prior to enrolment . Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a portfolio.
