The degrees in Middle Eastern and Central Asian studies will develop your understanding of Middle Eastern and Central Asian politics, international relations, modern history and political economy. The aim of these degrees is to prepare you for a career in a professional area requiring a solid understanding of the Middle East and Central Asia whether in diplomacy, the public service, teaching, journalism or business.
You may also complete a Master of Diplomacy/Master of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies. The Master of Diplomacy can be taken through the ANU Asia Pacific College of Diplomacy and you will graduate with two master degrees.

Permission may be given to include some courses from the Master of Islam in the Modern World.
Applicants should have a four year Bachelors degree either as Honours or a combined degree in a cognate area from an Australian tertiary institution or its international equivalent. Equivalence may be met by the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Middle Eastern & Central Asian Studies.
