Master of Classical Studies

Course Description

The Master of Classical Studies will develop your understanding of the language, history, literature, art, or other aspects of ancient Greek and Roman culture. As part of the degrees you have the opportunity to travel overseas to study. You can visit Greece and Turkey and gain a deeper understanding of these past cultures.

• Gallipoli and western Turkey (course taught in Turkey)
• Greek
• Greek and Roman warfare
• Homer and the Trojan War
• Latin
• Law and life in ancient Athens
• State, sanctuary and community (course taught in Greece)
• Traditional grammar
• Travellers and geographers

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a four year bachelors degree either as honours or a combined degree in a cognate area from an Australian tertiary institution or its international equivalent. Equivalence may be met by the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Classical Studies.
