Master's Programme in Health Sciences

Course Description

Health scientists go beyond individual health and look at health problems at population level. You will develop interventions that tackle health problems in different ways. Obesity can be solved by developing an anti-fat pill or by stomach reduction, but health scientists look at other possibilities such as increasing taxes on fatty foods or reducing the amount of sweets and softdrinks children can buy at school.

Health Sciences at VU University Amsterdam (the Netherlands) offers five specializations:
- Policy and Organization of Healthcare
- Prevention and Public Health
- Infectious Diseases and Health
- Nutrition and Health
- International Public Health
