Course Description

Literature in a globalized world

In this Research Master's programme, you study the role of literature in modern societies and its continuing role in the changing media landscapes of the modern world.

The two-year Research Master's programme in Comparative Literary Studies focuses on the role that literature in European languages plays as a cultural medium in the modern world. You will study literary phenomena from the Renaissance onward, evaluating it against the intellectual, social, political, and technological changes that occurred in society during these different eras.

Entry Requirements

Familiarity with the academic study of culture, shown by the fact that you have taken 45 EC of relevant courses in your Bachelor, including at least 30 EC relating to literature; Knowledge of the methods and theories applied in the study of culture in general, and literature in particular (acquired in specific courses taken in your Bachelor); Excellent level of academic achievement (as shown in your grades); Intellectual curiosity and highly developed analytical skills; Strong motivation to pursue further training in literary research from a comparative perspective; Ability to use English as a working language and an international orientation.
