MSc Sports Coaching


Course Description

The course offers current practitioners the opportunity to develop their conceptual and theoretical understanding of Sports Coaching Science. Practical skills in a range of scientific disciplines will be developed in order to enhance the coaching process.

An emphasis implicit within the course is on the interrelationship between the coach, performer and sport scientist.

The focus throughout the course requires students to critically reflect upon contemporary principles and practices in sports coaching. Upon completion of the course, students should have developed a critical reflective practitioner role, with an indepth understanding of sports coaching principles and processes.

Entry Requirements

a first or good second-class Honours degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
