This is an applied programme integrating theory, practice, skills and research
The course is designed to acquaint you with psychological perspectives on workplace issues, and to develop a range of transferable skills that will be relevant to the occupational psychology practitioner
You will attain the British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A Certificate in Occupational Testing as part of the course and you will have the opportunity for Level B (intermediate) Certificate training
You will be able to use some of the best-equipped psychology research facilities in UK higher education
You will gain an understanding of occupational psychology within the wider business context through professional practice sessions
You will gain the ability to apply psychological theory to workplace settings, and to critically analyse work situations
You will develop your problem-solving abilities, your research awareness, and your critical evaluation of research findings
You will have the opportunity to join the Work, Well-being and Organisation Research Group (WWORG) and will be encouraged to present your research at relevant conferences
Furthermore, you will pick up new competencies in statistics and/or qualitative analyses, and be able to apply research methodologies to work-based investigations
The small cohort of students ensures a sense of genuine community and collaboration
You should have a good Honours degree in Psychology, as well as eligibility for Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society You should also have a good standard of written and spoken English (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent) Applicants may be required to attend an interview at the University of Wolverhampton before being accepted onto this course We will ask for appropriate references FeesMSc Occupational Psychology is a non-standard course and fees are set by the School of Applied Sciences. Note that fees for the 2012/13 academic year are likely to increase in line with inflation.
