Master of Environmental Science: Marine and Coastal Management

Course Description

The Master of Environmental Science with a specialisation in Marine and Coastal Management provides students with knowledge and practical skills for the management of marine and coastal environments and students are well-qualified for a wide range of jobs in marine resource management.

UWA is well equipped for teaching and research in Marine and Coastal Management. Our teaching is supported by the world class research of the Oceans Institute Centre, Centre of Excellence in Coral Reef Science, the Centre of Excellence in Natural Resource Management,the Kings Park and Botanic Gardens Biodiversity Conservation Centre,the Aquatic Dynamics Laboratory, and the Ecosystem Restoration Laboratory.

Career opportunities

Graduates are employed in fisheries and marine conservation agencies at a state and federal level (such as the Department of Environment and Conservation), consulting firms, resource industries, the fishing industry, agencies such as Greenpeace and Reef Check, and in research at CSIRO, the Ocean’s Institute and universities.
