Executive MBA (Warwick)

Course Description

Explore key business and management areas, and learn about strategic decision making and negotiation from some of the world’s leading behavioural scientists and business education experts. Learn to understand the human factors behind decision-making.

Structure

The Warwick Executive MBA is designed to transform you into a creative leader with a global outlook. Right at the start of the programme there is a pre-module induction weekend during which you will get to know the study programme, Warwick campus, and meet your fellow participants.

Modules
Our Executive MBA comprises eight required modules and your choice of four elective modules. In parallel with the global focus of the course we enable you to increase your exposure to different international learning opportunities. You will be required to attend one module at a non-UK university, such as IPADE Business School in Mexico, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad or Guanghua of Management (GSM) in Beijing, China.

Consultancy project
You will also undertake a consultancy project which can be focused on an issue within your own organisation. Academically, it tests your ability to apply your learning to real management issues. Professionally, it may well open the door to your next career move.

Flexibility
You have up to five years to complete your MBA, but we recommend a period of around three years part-time. Making time for work, family, and friends, is important so take advantage of our flexibility.

If you want to complete your MBA sooner, you can often speed up your studies through careful selection of elective modules and an early start to your consultancy project.

Healthcare Specialism

This specialism will appeal to both clinical and healthcare management professionals across the healthcare sector, who are looking to develop both their general leadership capabilities, and their sector-specific understanding. Whether you’re a clinician on the frontline under increasing pressure to deliver effective results for patients, or a manager required to deliver efficient services under tight budget pressures, our Executive MBA with Healthcare Specialism could be the next step in your career, and give you the skills and confidence you need to take on a leadership role.

The programme is offered at The Shard, London, or at our University of Warwick campus. Participants will initially study eight required modules, which are then followed by three specialist healthcare modules designed to tailor your knowledge to your personal career needs and the demands of your industry. Participants may also undertake a major project which will have a healthcare focus, supervised by an appropriate member of faculty.

Finance Specialism

This specialism is designed for senior management and executives who are likely to have significant exposure to financial issues; typically those progressing to board level in public or private businesses, or taking responsibilities which include managing financial or accounting professionals. Board level positions typically require an understanding of financing and analysis beyond that which can be gained through short courses. Our modules are designed to improve technical understanding and develop your ability to ask the right questions and understand the answers.

The programme is offered at The Shard, London, or at our University of Warwick campus. Participants will initially study eight required modules, followed by a choice of three specialist finance or investment modules. Participants may also undertake a major project which will have a finance focus, supervised by an appropriate member of faculty.
