Accredited by: Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
Developed in accordance with the IOSH Higher Level Qualification Accreditation Framework this programme focuses on the theory and application of the key principles of health, safety and wellbeing management in an occupational setting.
The programme aims to challenge the preconceptions and practice of participants, as well as developing their knowledge, skills, competencies and ability to reflect and learn from their own professional practice. There is a strong emphasis on students' own practice, and students are encouraged to base their studies on the issues and situations they face in their own field.
The aim of the programme is to develop reflective occupational health, safety and wellbeing practitioners able to understand, develop, implement and monitor both, traditional safety concepts and contemporary health and wellbeing strategies and interventions in the context of the 21st century occupational health environment.
The postgraduate scholarship is an award for those studying a full time taught masters programme at Cardiff Met in 2014. The award will pay for your fees in full, valued at £4000 depending on the course.
We welcome applicants from all sectors: public, private and the voluntary & independent sector. The programme retains an international focus, addressing occupational health, safety and wellbeing issues faced around the world, as well as in Wales and the UK.Applicants are normally expected to hold an initial degree in a discipline relating to occupational health, safety and wellbeing. However, candidates with other relevant qualifications and experience will be considered if they are able to demonstrate practical and / or contextual knowledge of the basic 'learning objectives' defined within the IOSH Higher Level Qualification Accreditation framework.
