Primary Care and General Practice PgDip/MSc

Course Description

This distance learning programme is designed to enhance your ability to practice as an expert clinician, adviser and leader/manager within your own particular area of expertise.

The focus is on providing a critical understanding of frameworks for primary health care and health promotion, epidemiology and the ethical principles underpinning practice. The programme will be particularly relevant to general practitioners, community healthcare nurses/health visitors, community pharmacists, practice managers, professionals allied to medicine, social workers, and researchers in primary care or public health.

The programme is one of few that allows practitioners to develop an in-depth understanding of the developments in primary care globally putting them into context locally, whilst developing research expertise under the guidance of expert researchers and scholars

Entry Requirements

Normally a 2nd class hons degree in an area relevant to health/social sciences, be a qualified healthcare professional, manager or researcher in primary or community care, & 1 yr experience
