Master of Education (Research)

Course Description

The University of Sydney is Australia's premier research university, and the Faculty of Education and Social Work is a world-class research centre in the humanities, human services and related fields offering an outstanding range of innovative research courses.

The Master of Education (Research) is a one-year full-time course which offers two paths of study. Option A requires the completion of a thesis (maximum 25,000 words); Option B, consists of coursework plus a thesis (maximum 20,000 words). For Option B, the admissions committee will recommend two units of study for completion in the first semester of study. Assessment of each of these units of study will be based on 5000-6000 words of written work.

Candidates undertake supervised research on a topic approved by the Faculty and submit a thesis which embodies the results of the research.
