Master of Philosophy in Dentistry

Course Description

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is aimed at those who intend to pursue research careers in oral health or a related field. It may also be used as a foundation to commencing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The MPhil is normally completed over two years full-time, or 4 years part-time, at the end of which candidates submit a thesis for examination. The word limit for a thesis submitted to the Faculty of Dentistry is 80,000 words. MPhil students are required to successfully complete a unit of study on research methods (DENT6000), although the thesis is the major examinable assessment requirement for the degree.
