Interdisciplinary and flexible, the Master of US Studies allows you to deepen your understanding of American politics, culture and society.
Whether you want to pursue a career in government, international relations, business, media or education, this course will equip you with the skills you need to get there. These include high‑level analytical research and writing skills and a specialist understanding of current events in the US.
Our course provides you with an international perspective on American politics and foreign policy and an understanding of America’s influence on the world and the world’s reaction to America.
Another strength of the Master of US Studies comes from access to the outstanding resources and networks available at the United States Studies Centre (USSC), a leading teaching and research think tank in Australia. The centre offers unprecedented access to distinguished scholars, policymakers and business leaders.
The capstone experience of the Master of US Studies allows you to pursue professional development or academic excellence along one of our three advanced study streams: internship; exchange or research. You may choose to write a research dissertation, take part in a local or international internship in a variety of professional settings, or study on exchange in an international postgraduate program.
Among these options, our flagship Uni-Capitol program gives you the opportunity to take a semester-long internship at the US Congress, where you will gain a unique insider-perspective of US political systems and institutions.
