Master of Surgery (Surgical Sciences)

Course Description

The Master of Surgery at Sydney Medical School is designed to complement the practical experience you obtain through the hospital based training program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

This stream is coursework based and may be taken in an entirely online mode or part online/part face to face. Having chosen this stream you will be required to undertake one core Unit of Study (PUBH5018 Introductory Biostatistics) and 4 stream specific core units of study (24cp). In addition you will be required to complete a minimum of 3 elective Units of Study.

Please Note: Since you do not need to be domiciled in Sydney for a research project and writing a dissertation, you can do the core unit of study and 4 stream specific Units of Study all online and then elect to change streams to one of the Research/Dissertation streams. Your testamur would then appear MS(specialty of your choice Surgery) rather than MS(Surgical Sciences).
