Course Description

The Master of Health Policy offers a critical perspective on the workings of our health care system. It emphasises that good policy is based on sound evidence and evaluation, but also recognises the role of political power, budgetary constraints and value choices. The only program of its kind in Australia, its principal objective is to extend the professional skills of students.
Health policy studies offers a critical perspective on how our health care system operates, enabling you to extend your professional skills. They emphasise the importance of shaping policy, focusing on the interaction of governments with the private and community sectors.
By the end of your course you will understand the forces shaping the health policy environment, be equipped to work with professional confidence across the health sector, and be familiar with the workings of high-level national and international health policy networks.
The course is taught in full-day workshops supplemented with online components, making it ideal for people who are in full-time employment or who live outside the Sydney metropolitan area.
