The commercialisation of the web has led to an increased and sustained demand for skilled web developers. Designed for students without prior experience of computer programming, the PGCert Web Development will equip you with key skills in web development sought by employers.
You will learn about the fundamentals of web development, from authoring interactive web sites using modern client-side technologies such as HTML5 and CSS and scripting languages, through to the implementation of fully functional, client-server web applications, for example a blogging platform or a messaging service. In addition you will learn about key concepts and principles in Human Computer Interaction design and gain in-demand programming skills in a modern, object oriented programming language.
On graduation you will be have the knowledge and skills appropriate for work in web-development positions in a variety of organisations and businesses. You will be suited to roles that require understanding of the tools and platforms used in web development and the different technologies required for developing modern web applications and services.
