MA Radio (Production and Management)


Course Description

This course is aimed at people wishing to work in the radio industry in a production capacity and those wanting to advance their careers in radio station management and production. The course covers all stages of programme making from targeting ideas for audiences, budgeting, research, editing, studio production and post programme evaluation.

Students address a wide range of issues relating to radio station management through classes and experience of setting up a small radio station project. The course includes study of public service radio, commercial radio, community and access radio and the role of the independent producer.

Entry Requirements

Applications are welcome from holders of an honours degree in a relevant subject. All applicants should be able to demonstrate practical and critical and conceptual skills.
