Course Description

Summary

This course introduces the effective analysis, design, delivery and use of knowledge and information systems in organisations and society; it provides an basis for a career or research in knowledge and information systems management; The programme provides an excellent basis for those people who wish to have careers in knowledge and information systems management or carry out research in the discipline. It is particularly suitable both for recent graduates in strongly technical disciplines and for recent graduates in general management fields. The programme does not cover information technology topics such as hardware, programming and software engineering, though students will be expected to do some hands-on work, for example in developing web applications.

E-business and human-computer interaction; information systems development; information systems management and strategy; introduction to knowledge and information systems management; knowledge management and business intelligence; qualitative and quantitative research; problem structuring; systems thinking; web applications; dissertation; plus 2 relevant optional modules - choose from: −− Consultancy Skills, Simulation, Credit Scoring and Data Mining, Project Risk Management, Business Ethics
