Graduates practise dental implantology in hospitals and dental surgeries.
Biology & Biomaterials for Oral Surgery (year 1); Surgical Techniques in Dental Implantology (year 1); Strategies for Treating Tooth Loss (year 1); Clinical Practice in Implant Dentistry (year 1 & 2); Research Project.
Lectures, seminars, tutorials, student presentations, independent study and group work.
Continuous assessment, written assignments, presentations, case logbooks, dissertation based on a research project (MMedSci only).
You’ll be a dental surgeon with a primary dental degree and demonstrable skills in oral surgery and restorative dentistry. You’ll have completed basic clinical training in dental implantology and you must have at least two years’ experience in a hospital or general dental practice. English language requirements: overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
