MSc Marketing Management Practice

Course Description

About the course

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)

This course is designed for graduates from any discipline. You become an Affiliate Post-Graduate Member of the CIM when you register. On graduation, you qualify for associate CIM membership. Once you have three years’ marketing experience, you qualify for full membership.

We don’t just teach the theory of marketing. There’s a lot of emphasis on applying what you learn in a business setting. You can also apply to do a project-based dissertation, working with an external organisation. Recent dissertation projects include a branding review for a large law firm and working with a local, environment-led SME to study consumer behaviour.

Your career

Our graduates work for companies such as Adidas, ASDA, Boots, ExxonMobil, HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Pepsico International, Sainsbury’s and Vodafone. Their job titles include Head of Business Enhancement, Management Consultant, Product Marketing Manager, Web Marketing Consultant and Campaign Manager.

An MBA can help you change direction or progress faster within your organisation. A specialist MSc can take you into a particular field of management such as human resources, finance or marketing. You might be inspired to set up a company of your own.

How we teach

We teach management from a truly global perspective, and our courses are based on pioneering research into the challenges faced by businesses everywhere.

We’ll teach you how to identify opportunities, solve problems and inspire others. Many of our teaching staff are world-class researchers working in policy-relevant areas. Our courses are based on their research.

We bring in guest speakers from business, local government and industry. You can apply to carry out a project with an external organisation as part of your course. We also offer you the chance to spend the summer at another university overseas.

MSc Scholarships - 8 Awards

Eight scholarships valued at £7,000 each are available for applicants from: The Americas - two scholarships at £7,000 each
UK - two scholarships at £7,000 each
India - two scholarships at £7,000 each
Pakistan - two scholarships at £7,000 eachThe students considered to be the most outstanding, as decided by a committee consisting of the Postgraduate Admissions Director, one of the school’s Admissions Tutors and one of the MSc programme directors, will be awarded the scholarships.The students to whom a scholarship will be awarded will receive notification before 31 July 2015. The scholarship will only be valid when the student has met all entry requirements for the MSc programme the student has applied for. The scholarship will be void when the student fails to register for the 2015 intake on the MSc programme the student has applied for.

Value of Scholarship(s)



Scholarships will be awarded on merit. The general eligibility requirements are:Academic requirements – applicants should have a first or upper second class UK honours degree, or equivalent
Allowed study options – applicants should have accepted an offer from the university to study on one of the full-time MSc programmes
Personal criteria – applicants must have the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary to make an excellent contribution to the programme

Application Procedure

All students who are eligible for a scholarship and have accepted their offer before the closing date of 6 June 2015 will be automatically considered.
