Molecular Medicine and Oncology


Course Description

Main aim: to strenghten the biomedical knowledge of all students by employing strategies and methods of Molecular Biology. The multidisciplinary master includes laboratory work and short term training for skill development (at different institutions). Contents: Molecular Biology and Techniques (Hands-on), Cell Cycle & Apoptosis, Human Genetics and Disease, Oncobiology, Molecular Cytogenetics, Angiogenesis in Inflammation and Cancer, Pharmacogenomics and Molecular Epidemiology, Cardiac Insufficiency, Epigenetics and Cancer, Endocrine Pathology. Collaborations on campus: Oncology/Pathology Research Centre (IPATIMUP), Hospital São João, Portuguese Institute of Oncology. Collaborations in the city of Porto: Biomedical Institute (ICBAS) and Molecular Biology/Biomedical Engineering Researc Centre (IBMC/INEB).
