Summary This programme provides a comprehensive understanding of networked systems and services, in the context of converging computing and telecommunications technologies, covering all levels, from the theoretical concepts to the practical, hands-on tasks; the programme provides students with an in-depth view of the current networking world, from the underlying infrastructure to the latest services; this exposure, ranging from the theoretical aspects to extensive hands-on experience, provides graduates with the required knowledge for jobs ranging from network engineer specialists to network consultants.
A minimum of Bachelor of Science (Honours) 2.1 in a computing, electronic engineering or similar background; students with professional experience also considered; a lower degree classification may be considered if the applicant can demonstrate a significant level experience in the networking area, with competence in computer programming; professional experience may also be taken into consideration; entry to the MRes is via initial entry to the MSc, requiring the student to pass the first 60 taught credits with high scores and also pass an interview.
