Radiographic Reporting (PgDip/PgCert)

Course Description

The Radiographic Reporting programme at the School of Healthcare Sciences offers knowledge and expertise to enable qualified healthcare professionals to carry out clinical image reporting tasks in their workplace, acting as autonomous professionals.

The number of healthcare professions using images in their work has increased over recent years and there are many groups who would like the ability to interpret films. This course, open to a wide range of healthcare professionals, will provide students with the chance to foster greater inter-professional links. Those healthcare professionals completing the course will have the opportunity to increase their evaluative and problem solving skills within the specialised area of clinical reporting.
Upon completing the programme, students will be able to produce an accurate, informative written report in a concise and coherent way, to a sensitivity and specificity of 95%.

Special Features

• Suitable for professionals, in particular paramedical personnel (including radiographers and extended scope physiotherapists) and nursing personnel (specifically nurse practitioners in Accident and Emergency)
• Student web discussion forum allows easy exchange of information and discussion of issues outside the teaching environment

Hanan Khalil (MSc Physiotherapy)

The MSc in Physiotherapy course was a great experience for me.
I especially appreciated the method of teaching academic study to
the postgraduate students where you can improve and develop your research abilities. The supportive teaching atmosphere and the ability to access a vast collection of information from the libraries helped me greatly. My research results were accepted for presentation as a poster in a conference and I have now had a paper accepted for the Journal Physical Therapy.

Monica Busse (Physiotherapy)

"I wanted to continue with my postgraduate studies so that I can develop the necessary research skills. Doing a PhD in my particular area will help me to continue my academic and professional development. In the Research Centre for Clinical Kinaesiology (Department of Physiotherapy Education), I have found the staff to be very supportive and friendly. Cardiff is a great city to live in and the outdoor activities are an added bonus."
