Claire Heaney (Fluid Dynamics)

"After thoroughly enjoying my MSc course I decided to continue working in the area of Fluid Dynamics by studying for a PhD. I chose Cardiff because my supervisor is an expert in this field and because the university has an excellent reputation. With so many well-qualified students the competition for jobs is fierce, so a PhD will improve my chances when it comes to finding a career."

Mari Jones (PhD in Operational Research)

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as an undergraduate student at Cardiff and really enjoyed the Operational Research modules in my course, so I decided to continue with my education by studying for a PhD. Cardiff School of Mathematics, as well as being a very good department, is a very friendly and welcoming department. My supervisors are experts in the field of Operational Research and are very supportive to my learning. I saw this as an opportunity to develop my career prospects by continuing to do something that I enjoyed very much.
