Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing

Course Description

This course aims to provide training in the applications of mathematics to a wide range of problems in science and technology. It is intended for graduates in mathematics or related disciplines wishing to pursue a career in industrial or commercial research or in academia.

The course consists of both taught courses and a dissertation. Topics covered include analytical and numerical solution of ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical linear algebra, numerical optimisation, mathematical ecology and biology, fluid dynamics and mathematical physiology.

Entry Requirements

A good undergraduate degree (for UK applicants this means a 2.1 or higher) in a subject with significant mathematical content
