Continuing your professional development is not only a requirement for ongoing registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, but is increasingly recognised as important by government, professional bodies and the public sector.
Please note: this is not a PG pre-registration course for individuals with a first degree now wanting to train as a dietitian, but a PG post-registration programme suitable as continuing professional development for dietitians and other healthcare professionals. It is not available to international students.
The University of Nottingham has been a recognised provider of the British Dietetic Association's Masters in Advanced Dietetic programme since 2008. These new postgraduate qualifications have been designed to meet the BDA's requirements of both work based learning and research skills.
Practitioners who aspire to become increasingly competent professionals must develop the ability to evaluate current practice critically, both from the wider professional picture and their individual point of view.
These programmes offer a sound foundation for professional development on which to build your future success. Part-time and modular they have been designed to suit your personal and professional situation, whether that is a single module, a postgraduate certificate, diploma or the complete Masters programme.
Funding is available via the Strategic Health Authority's 'Learning Beyond Registration' initiative for free module places (except the 60 credit Research Project) for staff within the East Midlands region.
These programmes have been specially developed by professionals in Nutritional Sciences in the School of Biosciences, one of the University's most successful schools based at the Sutton Bonington Campus. We have a dynamic teaching team and offer the opportunity to learn under the guidance of expert practitioners, educators and researchers.
