Research Methods: Sociology/Social Policy/Social Work/Public Policy & Administration Masters (MA)


Course Description

This course offers rigorous training in all aspects of social research methods and will build a firm foundation for doctoral study and for those who wish to pursue careers in which the abilities to collect and order information and to draw conclusions is important.

All students will take five common modules, two subject-specific module and dissertation. The course has been recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council.

The aim of this course is to equip students with the theoretical understandings and practical skills required to carry out independent research using a wide range of methodological approaches and research techniques.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to hold a 2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent)IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
