MEnt Physics and Astronomy (Research)

Course Description

The Master of Enterprise (MEnt) is a unique programme designed to give graduates the business knowledge and skills required to take a new product or service to market. Students work on projects which combine their subject expertise with the enterprise knowledge and skills required to turn these projects into viable business propositions. The project is supported by two compulsory taught enterprise units provided by the Manchester Science and Enterprise Centre (MEC) and two optional physics and astronomy units. Students are based within the MEC Business Creation Unit. The enterprise project will be carried out in the School of Physics and Astronomy, with MEC providing business premises in support of the entrepreneurial component. Students will be allocated a supervisor in Physics and Astronomy along with an enterprise supervisor from MEC and will also be allocated a business mentor to provide guidance during the projects exit to market.

The Manchester MEnt is recognised as one of the best postgraduate enterprise programmes in the country by students and academics alike. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to home applicants with a first class degree or equivalent.
