Advanced Chemical Engineering MSc

Course Description

Modern chemical engineering is a vast subject. As well as dealing with chemical reactors, distillation and the numerous processes that take place in a chemical or petrochemical plant, there is an increasing need for chemical engineers with training in material processing and formulation, biotechnology and environmental issues. This course provides a broad range of specialist Units, meaning that you can tailor the course to your particular career aspirations or interests and learn in depth about subjects of particular relevance to you.

This course will benefit those who already have a background in chemical engineering but who wish to obtain a higher level qualification from a top-ranking British university. It will also benefit those with no formal background in chemical engineering but who wish to obtain a qualification in the subject. Such students will take a foundation unit before starting the course and an extended Design Project instead of a Research Project.

Being a large and diverse School, we are able to provide a tremendous variety of specialist courses, all taught by experts in the field. You will be able to pick the topics that interest you, timetabling permitting, and we will be there to provide whatever help and guidance we can in the design of your course.
