This Master provides an interdisciplinary and broad-spectrum knowledge on the aims, structures and functioning of public and private non profit organisations – within their political, legal, economic, social, and cultural context. Students are provided with operational competences in managing internal and external communication as well as in managing projects and other activities within this sector. The programme offers a balanced mix of theoretical and applied teaching approaches and stresses class and group interaction in order to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and the necessary operational competences for professional activities as well as for future researchers.
The Foundation for the Lugano Faculties of USI and the Università della Svizzera italiana, will award a total of 60 one-off study grants of the amount of 4'000 CHF each.Distribution of the grants will be as followed: 20 grants will be awarded to students that pursued a Bachelor degree at a Swiss University, 20 to students that pursued a Bachelor degree at an Italian University and 20 to students that pursued a Bachelor degree in a University from other countries.
Value of Scholarship(s)
The merit based grants are given to students admitted as first-year students of a USI Master programme. Merit is determined based on the results of the academic degree that gives access to the Master (usually the bachelor's).
Candidates are kindly asked to send the complete application by July 31st. All applicants will be notified by the middle of August.
The formal requirement for admission to the Master's degree in Public Management and Policy is the completion of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized academic institution (or completion of a full three years of study at university level, 180 ECTS) in public economics, business management, politics, sociology, law, communication sciences, or an equivalent university degree.
