Finance and Management MBA

Course Description

The University of Liverpool Management School is one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to be AACSB-Accredited.

The MBA programme entered The Economist’s ‘Which MBA?’ top 100 global ranking in 2015.

Join the MBA programme in Finance and Management and you will, of course, develop your professional skills and gain a thorough understanding of business finance. But there’s a broader outcome. You’ll build your awareness of what it takes to lead and manage a complex organisation, and you’ll come to understand the place of business in society. If you want to focus on the analysis and management of business finance, this is the MBA for you.

The core elements of the programme – leadership, strategy, managing the environment, innovation, entrepreneurship, managing financial resources – are delivered in concentrated blocks to encourage a deeper understanding, with a strong emphasis on interactive teaching and learning. The specialist finance modules will equip you with an understanding of regulatory systems, financial risk management, capital markets, and the role of accounting for performance management. You’ll also learn how to prepare financial statements and develop a successful financial strategy.

The broader skills you’ll acquire include analysis, problem solving, creativity and decision-making. The Developing as a Manager and a Leader module will also serve to strengthen and hone your interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities – all of which will prepare you for success within the modern organisation.

Theory, we believe, has most value when it can be seen working in practice, which is why live case studies and simulations are central to teaching and learning. You’ll also have a range of opportunities to work on real projects for sponsoring organisations through work based projects and the student-led consultancy service.
