You will develop hands-on skills in laboratory research, using a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment, as well as developing your abilities in scientific writing, critical thinking, experimental design and quantitative methods.
As a researcher in the School of Life Sciences, you will also be expected to submit your work for publication to scientific journals and to national and international conferences and internal meetings of postgraduate students. The School has a particular strength in supporting international and EU students in the generation of high-quality data for submission to scientific journals in their field, which is recognised in their country of origin.
